What is AVEM?

AVEM (Valencian Association of Medical Students), was founded in 2003 and is part of an international organization called IFMSA (International Federation of Medical Students Associations), an organization founded in 1951 that represents around 1.3 million students from 127 different countries.

IFMSA is affiliated with the UNand is recognized as the only international forum for medical students. Furthermore, it maintains official relations with the World Health Organization since 1969 and holds a “C” level status in UNESCO, among many other affiliations.

Among its projects, the international program of clinical and research professional exchanges stands out, reaching the figure of 13,000 annual placements.

At AVEM, throughout the year, we organize different types of conferences and activities, through which members earn points; generally following the pattern of 1 hour = 1 point. At the end of the year, the exchange auction is held, in which members are ranked according to their points, that is, according to their involvement in the association. They then have the opportunity to choose the destination where they can complement their academic training, carrying out clinical or research internships, in different countries around the world.
